  1. Bi‑polar stepper motor: Full-step control using 2-phase chopper drive; approx. 750 discrete steps, enabling smooth, linear modulation across 10–100% stroke.
  2. Robust design: Rated for 870 psig (~60 bar) working pressure and ambient temperatures from –40 °F to 130 °F.
  3. Wide operating range: Rated up to 43–60 bar, and –50 °C to +120 °C, covering most refrigerants including HCFCs, HFCs, and subcritical CO₂.
  4. Compact inlet/outlet: 5/8″ inlet and 7/8″ outlet (ODF), suitable for a variety of HVAC/R systems.
  5. Fast actuation: Full-stroke achieved in ~1.5 seconds; low holding current (~100 mA), efficient for dynamic control.
  6. Solenoid shut-off: Many models include positive shut-off to prevent liquid hammer and eliminate separate solenoid valves.
